The Truth About HIV

Origins of HIV

There are many debates on where HIV came from but here are a few articles and sources you may want to consider.  Discovering the origins of HIV are interesting for only one reason there may be a clue in how to fight it and overcome it in its war raged against humanity.  Its definitely not about blaming anyone, as it is unlikely any individual is to blame, as it was likely to be a cross-species transfer from Chimpanzees/Green Monkeys who have SIV and these were often eaten as food in the days when HIV was discovered.  Its a bit like the cross species transfer of swine-flu, chicken flus and bovine spongiform encephalopathy which you can get from eating infected beef.  The hugest problem is though that this cross-species transfer happened and now we have to deal with the effects.  Unfortunately we didn't have the medical facilities or knowledge at the time to isolate and deal with it,  as we did these recent cross-species jumps.

Does HIV Present a Huge Threat to Humanity

The last estimate by UNAIDS was that there were currently 33.4million people living with HIV.  The population of the UK is 61m the population of Uganda is 33.2 million so we currently have a situation where a small nation of people worldwide are infected and living with HIV.  The reason this has become a real threat and problem is due to the fact that we are in an age where there is a breakdown of long-term monogamous relationships especially in the Western world.   The UNAIDS organisation stipulate that 60% of infections are in sub-saharan Africa.

 

Can We Reduce New Infections

Is there a possibility of reducing new infections

Originally was started in Uganda it is thought and spread to other countries like Botswana as it worked quite well the main concepts were

 

A- Abstain from sex before marriage

B- Be Faithful

C- Condomise

 

the main concept was abstain as much as you can from sex before marriage, when you have a partner stick to one partner and be faithful and if you fail to abstain or you fail to be faithful condomise.  This was highly successful and managed to reduce rates of HIV infection.

 

What about Uganda

What actually happened in Uganda over the last thirty years, well some parts were good and some parts were not so good.  However the main good thing was that Uganda realised it had a problem with high HIV rates and choose to address it.  Its admirable that the government choose to act and not be in denial like Thabo Mbeki

 

Polygamy & Concurrent Partners Contribution to HIV

The main contributing factor to the increase in rates of HIV accross many countries in the world is due to concurrent multiple sexual partnerships and polygamy.  Whilst this was always deemed as a problem that affected African countries where polygamy and concurrent multiple partnership relationships are commonplace,  we are now witnessing a similar uprise in the US where multiple sexual partner relationships are being promoted and accepted as the norm. (its called non-exclusive dating)  Its quite a risky situation in the US now as HIV infections are on the increase amongst young people who practice this new concept, showing that this riskier sexual behaviour is not only presenting the possibility of increased potential risks, but actually yielding fruits in the form of new infections.

People insist that they need this variety to get to know the multiple partners properly however you never really get to know anyone if you are dating four people at a time, as each person will only give you limited time and they will show you what they want you to see.  Its a lot more calculated and a lot more of the person's life is hidden and the relationships tend to continue on a superficial basis, which is why the marriages fall apart quite quickly when the partners decide to get married.  As in their lack of scrutiny over the one person they do end up choosing, they usually miss the real issues and lack of compability on major points such as values and character, then find they cannot live with the partner they chose.  It is much better to date one person and see if you are compatible without involving a multitude of others to distract and confuse matters.  So its entirely illogical and is actually risky to their health and retrogressive to humanity as a whole as it encourages sleeping with multiple partners with a predatory sexually transmitted disease just waiting for our human greed, weaknesses and lustfilled desires to provide it with an opportunity.

 

Mutuations of HIV

The truth is HIV is a moving target they managed to identify many strains of this virus and it is mutating at an incredible rate that quite simply cannot be curbed.  How can you find an effective weapon against an enemy that continues to transform.
